Garnier Pure Active Matcha Detox Mask #PureResults

Garnier Pure Active Matcha Detox Mask *PR sample

It's January and of course that can only mean one thing - detox, detox, detox! It's the perfect time to give your skin a much needed deep clean and Garnier has introduced an amazing new treatment guaranteed to revive and rejuvenate your face.

This month I have been trailing the Pure Active Matcha Detox mask, developed to unclog blocked pores in just 10 minutes. Made with Matcha tea extract and Kaolin clay, this mask cleanses the skin and rids off excess oils and pollution residue. Simply apply evenly across your face, let it set for the recommended time and then rinse to reveal a matte and smooth complexion. The product itself has a delicate consistency that doesn't weigh down the skin and smells delightfully fresh.

Admittedly I have found that my skin has broken out ever so slightly, which would be expected from a deep cleansing treatment but needless to say I have seen an improvement. Working and living in a city environment does take it's toll on my skin and this mask is just what I need to keep blackheads and shine at bay!

2018 Beauty and Lifestyle Resolutions

It's that time again, the New Year is here and I'm sure we've all made resolutions of some scale. In addition to my own personal goals and aspirations for 2018, I have given some thought to what I'd like to change in my beauty and lifestyle regimes.

A resolution that's on my list every year but not one I follow through. I plan to commit to drinking 6-8 glasses of water each day and on nights out I want to make sure I have water between alcoholic beverages. When I have increased my water intake I do notice an improvement in my skin and I generally feel much better for it.

2. Take better care of my skin
My skincare routine went a little off the rails towards the end of last year. I got lazy with cleansing and toning, which lead to endless breakouts and a dull complexion. I also neglected my moisturiser, both face and body so I really want to get back into the habit of keeping my skin hydrated each day.

3. Maintain healthy locks
I find that I complain about the condition of my hair without actually doing anything about it. This year I want to have regular trims and occasional treatments to keep it looking and feeling healthy for longer.

4. No diet but better choices
This isn't a priority for me however there is room for improvement. I do currently keep fit and I wouldn't say I over indulge but I need to reevaluate my decisions when it comes to food. Cutting down carbs and sugar is where I hope to start as well as introducing portion control.

5. Less is more
I tend to stress unnecessarily about my style, I'm certainly not a trend setter and I don't always follow the fashion crowd but I have come to realise it's more about the essentials. Now and then I go through my wardrobe and I'll clear out a couple of items at a time that I no longer get wear out of. Scaling down to staple pieces actually broadens outfits to choose from without the headache of 'what should I wear?'.

Have you set yourself any resolutions? I'd love to hear them!

What I Got For Christmas 2017

Despite not asking for much this year, I was rather spoilt this Christmas. I'm very grateful to have received some of my favourites plus some thoughtful surprises!

Posh Eggs: Over 70 recipes for wonderful eggy things
I absolutely love to cook and I am known for going all out when it comes to breakfast, so this little cookbook is sure to come into good use in 2018. The recipes are easy to follow and range from brunch to snacking and desserts to cocktails. I'm also obsessed with the photography in this book, if you know me I love a foodie flat lay and be sure to watch my insta for some of my own eggy creations.

REN Skincare
REN is one of my go to skincare brands and my mum kindly treated me to some of my staple products. I must admit my skin routine has been lacking towards the end of this year and it's something I really want to pick back up in the New Year. The Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser works wonders at removing make up and dirt, I like to use this at the end of the day followed by the Clarimatte Clarifying Toner to remove any stubborn excess. The Clarimatte T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel is amazing for my oily skin, I tend to use this when my skin is starting to break out. To maintain hydration in my skin after bathing the Moroccan Rose Gold Glow Perfect Dry Oil is wonderful and smells divine. I have yet to use the Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil but if it's anything like the dry oil it is sure to be lovely.

Nike Training FlexTrainers
This year I really upped my fitness and I wanted a new pair of trainers to wear for the gym. My boyfriend treated me to a fresh pair of Nikes and they're exactly what I needed. They're super comfortable and look great which will certainly keep me motivated to put them on to go and workout.

Maison Labiche Sweater
Another gift from my other half. I often 'borrow' his sweaters so he got me my very own and it's just adorable. It's soft and cosy, perfect for chilly winter days although that won't stop me rummaging through his wardrobe.

Carolina Herrera 212 VIP
I have loved this fragrance for years and I was thrilled to receive another bottle. It has a really warming, musky base with subtle notes of Vanilla and floral tones. The scent of Bergamot comes through too, which is one of my most favourite smells. The fragrance lingers through the day and is wearable for any occasion. I can't seem to stop spritzing myself so it may not last me long into the year..oops!

As well as these gifts I also got new luggage for my travels next year as I have a few trips in the pipeline and lastly I was gifted a champagne experience for 2 at The View from The Shard which I am super excited about, thanks again to my boyfriend.

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas with your loved ones, let me know what presents you were lucky to get!

Happy New Year
